10 Ways to Boost your Emotional Wellbeing!

Below are 10 ways you can help yourself to improve your emotional wellbeing.

  • Keep active- exercise is good for your physical and emotional health
  • Eat well- eat mood boosting foods like bananas, nuts, dark chocolate, berries (look at the previous blog re mood boosting foods on this blog)
  • Drink plenty of fluids- keep well hydrated, this helps you to keep healthy and allows you to think clearly.
  • Read a book- take some time to sit quietly and ‘switch off’ from social media and enjoy a good book.
  • Talk to others- keep in touch with family and friends.
  • Remember the positives- remember your strengths, what you are good at and what you enjoy.
  • Ask for help- it is ok to ask for support from others, talk to your friends, parents, or access Big White Wall.
  • Self-help- look at the resources on the ‘all student’ emails, the Tutorial newsletter, the Emotional well-being blog, Big White Wall, Kooth and MIND.
  • Relax- take time to just relax, listen to music, go for a gentle walk, self-care- take a bath or shower, wash your hair, paint your nails, colour, practice yoga!
  • Do something you enjoy each day- find something you enjoy and do this each day, choose a different activity for each day. Plant some bulbs, bake, write a journal, get arty or crafty!
  • Keeping yourself well is the key to good emotional wellbeing. There are lots of websites which you can access which have a wealth of information on how to positively manage your wellbeing.
