Time to Talk Day 2021

Time to Talk day 2021 is taking place on Thursday 4th February 2021. As we are not able to see each other in person it is more important than ever to talk to each other about how we are feeling. Talk to your parents, siblings, friends and trusted adults. Talking about your feelings or catching up with a friend will help you to feel better about yourself.

Feeling isolated, having little or no motivation or finding your sleeping patterns have been disrupted by Covid 19 all have a negative impact upon your thoughts, feelings and actions. Talking to others about this helps to ease those feelings of isolation, it motivates you and keeps you connected to others. Remember we are all in this together, we are all feeling the stresses of covid and how this is affecting our basic freedoms, so we can all understand how each of us is feeling.

Remember, the best way to feel better and motivated is to be active; exercise, go for a walk, run, try Yoga or Pilates, go on a bike ride or access the 15 minute Joe Wicks exercises on youtube. Regular exercise can positively impact serotonin levels in your brain. Raising serotonin levels boosts your mood and overall sense of well-being. It can also help improve your appetite and sleep routines, which are often negatively affected when you feel low or anxious.

On Thursday 4th February connect with someone, talk to them, ask them how they are feeling, share your plans for the next time you can meet up, your plans for your future and what you are most looking forward to post Covid. This will give you hope, something to look forward to and a goal for the future.
